I used to think that buying plants was the project. Nobody told me I would start celebrating new leaves like a proud parent.

It began with wanting the balcony to feel a little better. A pot here. A plant there. Something green to make the space feel less empty.

Then I started checking the plants. Not casually. Properly checking them. Is that a new leaf? Was it there yesterday? Why is this flower taking so long?

The funny part is that nothing dramatic has happened. I'm still looking after a few plants in a small space. Yet suddenly the tiniest change feels like progress.

Maybe that's why I enjoy the project. Not because I'm an expert gardener—I am learning as I go—but because it's nice to watch something grow without rushing it.
