I can picture the moment I stand up to speak. What I'm less sure about is everything that happens inside me before I get there.

I've spoken in front of students before. This feels different. It's a new place, a different audience and an occasion that matters to the people taking part.

I want to document the preparation as well as the speech: the rehearsals, the travel, the ordinary moments and whatever nerves come with it.

I don't want the video to pretend that confidence arrived overnight. If I stumble, or if I feel nervous, that's part of the story too.

The ending hasn't happened yet. That's what makes this a journal entry rather than a polished success story. I'm going to show up and see what the experience teaches me.
